Insulated Raft / Hybrid Foundation

The Insulated Foundation system is a passive foundation system.
ICF Wall panels are used as the edge shutters. The ICF panel is manufactured using Extruded polystyrene (EPS).
EPS/XPS sheets of varying compressive strengths and thickness are used to support the loads and application required are spread out under the building footprint. Reinforcement is fixed and concrete poured on top, fully encapsuling the foundation in insulation.

As the perimeter is formed using the ICF panels, the external walls can simpy continue up providing a flush external facade to formation level.

The Insulated Raft Foundation system is suitable for all construction methods from ICF to timber frame and traditional block work.

ICF can work with any foundation system or construction method and we have a vast library of details that can suit your requirement.

We also work with off-site solutions such as precast ground beams that can be used effectivlywith precast concrete floor systems to provide a robust, raised foundation system that has been succesfully applied on our projects that are in high risk flood zones.

We have a background in deep foundations such as CFA, LDP, Driven piling and ground improvement methods. We work with our partner piling contractors to provide a holistic solution to suit your sites needs and design requirements/specification.
